FEDERATION 2 PLAYER PLANETALBANSIRE: ABLA TWO - IBERIA SYSTEMAs luck would have it, Albansire found a cheap planet just as Alba was starting to decline. Slarti had made it for a customer who wanted an earth-like planet, but absolutely covered in mountains. He was a fan of the lost art of skiing, a curious pastime by any account. Mistakes were made, however, and the customer would not take delivery of the planet as the water levels were far too high. Instead of a skiier's paradise, this planet was all water and covered in archipelagoes. For Albansire, of course, this was perfect. And the price was right. He sowed the planet with the seeds of jungle life and then imported exotic creatures of all description, his favorite being the tiger. He picked out one archipelago and one relatively flat, broad land mass, naming them Leon and Castilla respectively. He made sure that all would be well, left a small homing device on a hilltop in Leon and then left, destroying the system's link after it. His clones threw away the money he had accumulated in his life in idleness. Though each one had explicit instructions on how to find the Iberia system, only now that the money is all gone is anyone interested in finding it. Naturally, Iberia was located, a link set up, and humans from one dying colony or another imported to populate the planet, Alba Two. Leon was tamed (for the most part) and agricultural facilities set up. In order to maintain control over his subjects, Albansire has eliminated advanced technologies from the planet's surface as much as possible, with the exception of a luxury resort hotel which the 'natives' are excluded from. The planet is operated from orbit, in a nice comfy orbital platform with all the comforts of home. It almost seems silly to want to travel down to the planet at all! |
