WEB FED AWARD WINNING PLANET:
NEUROTIC - OVERLORD EMBRIONIC

Reviewed on July 6, 2003

Approaching Neurotic called for nothing less than earplugs when I visited. The orbit of this system was a cacophony of static, moans, and screams of unseen tortured souls – almost as though to make up for the lack of color on the planet itself. All the sights on Neurotic had been muted to shades of black, white, and gray.

This looked like a dismal place indeed. The patrons of the Opium Bar off the landing pad may have presented livelier scenery, but the smoke was so thick I couldn't see a thing. The figures presented in the Market were neither interesting nor remarkable, and I was about to label this planet as the Depression Hub of Fed.

Just as I started to slink off to my ship for the return trip, I spotted a building off to the side. The sign at the entrance told me this was the History Center, and after paying admission, I found there was a much richer history here than this dismal gray-shaded place first let on.

Apparently Neurotic used to be a colorful and lively system presided over by someone named Nathanial Neurotic. His life story was rich with tales of true love, heartbreaking loss, and unexplained mystery and, with my contribution of additional admission fees, the tour guide whispered secrets of mazes to be circumnavigated, puzzles to be solved, and wrongs to be righted by diligent explorers!

Neurotic turned out to be a well-themed planet full of interesting events and plenty of area to explore. Sometimes the descriptions tend to ramble along twice as long as the average attention span, so make sure you have plenty of time and patience to appreciate system. It is a must-see for those who want to add a little mystery to their Fed experience!

Congratulations on a job well done, Embrionic. You've earned yourself a Carpenter Award!
