"That must've been busy. What were some of your first impressions?", asks Galinfenner. "I actually read the manual before coming in, so I wasn't as clueless as I could have been. I was really impressed by the economics of the game..", says Jazir. Galinfenner nods Wolfyn grins. Jazir says, "Most games you saw then revolved around killing rats. Plus, the culture was... interesting, to put it mildly :)(" Galinfenner chuckles Sallyanne giggles. "Walking into the cantina for the first time was a trip", smiles Jazir. Wolfyn shivers. Galinfenner asks, "What do you remember about that?" Jazir says, "Nothing in particular, just the scroll. It never stopped from all the conversation" Galinfenner nods "So where did you hang out mostly?", asks Galinfenner. Jazir says, "My command center, for sure! Game was much more challenging to advance then, because there were few rich folks, and none of them gave out much cash" "so you spent a lot of time hauling?", asks Galinfenner. Jazir says, "So I did a lot of hauling" Galinfenner grins Galinfenner asks, "how long did it take you to become a planet owner?" "Oh, let's see, about a year and a half or so, I had one dd from the rank of JP during that time, which took a while to climb back from", says Jazir. Galinfenner nods Galinfenner asks, "most of that time was at JP then?" "Yep, it was the best rank in the game back then, no question", smiles Jazir. Galinfenner grins "Profitable factories, haulers to do my bidding, etc..", smiles Jazir. Galinfenner asks, "Any special people you remember from over the years? Friends? relationships? enemies?" Jazir says, "Then I would hang out in Cds or the Cantina, running 2-3 haulers at a time.." Sallyanne giggles. Galinfenner grins Galinfenner winks and says, "It was the thing back then" "Oh, tons of people, I couldn't name them all. Myangel for sure, Lucasw123..", says Jazir. Wolfyn smiles. Jazir knew Horsell and the ruins like the back of his hand at the end of it ;) Wyldcat chuckles Galinfenner asks, "Jazir, Do you have a most embarrassing moment for us?" Ops says, "So I ate the sermon" Sallyanne laughs at Ops! Wyldcat laughs Jazir says, "Sure, sure, nearly Dding in Fedpardy was one of them, but the best one occurred a few months back.." Galinfenner nods and listens Peggysue mutters dding in fedpardy? Jazir says, "I showed up late for Cof, I think it was, but fortunately was able to get in.." "Cup of Fearlessness", says Galinfenner. Thejunior hopes losing to him wasn't the embarrassing moment. Jazir says, "Since I was running behind, I bought a ship real quick, and rapidly typed in the half dozen or so commands that get me from the golgotha Lp to being ready in an arena..." Shel grins Ops tickles TJ Galinfenner grins Fancy grins, thinking he sees where this is going. "Gave my ready, heard tghe count, and then started moving and shooting like normal.. Only problem was, I had forgotten to teleport TO golgotha..", says Jazir. Galinfenner chuckles Wolfyn grimaces. Fancy laughs. "I was wandering around my palace shouting "Launch missile!!" Scared the heck out of the help", says Jazir. "I would imagine they were ducking for cover", says Galinfenner with a wink. Wyldcat laughs Wolfyn rolls. Sallyanne grins, remembering that. Shel giggles Fancy laughs out loud. "or calling the men in the white coats", says Galinfenner with a wink. Peggysue laughs and laughs Madonnaboi keels over laughing "The fedpardy DD was just carelessness. Its ironic because with all the fighting I've done, you'd think I'd come close in one of those events, but nope, Fedpardy..", smiles Jazir. Galinfenner laughs Thejunior thinks his victory still woulda been more embarrassing.. would certainly be embarrassed if it were him. "Near-DD, wasn't it?", asks Fancy. "Not an actual one.", says Fancy. "Err, fedpardy near DD. The cat was Mars ruins, and I ported into the nuke reactor and wound up on earth", says Jazir. Ops asks, "Too much liquid refreshment inducement in vast quantities?" "That would make a great fedpardy question.", says Galinfenner. Ops smiles, "Oh that's even better" "Typed teleport 18 to return to my hospital for insurance. My finger was falling on the enter key when I'd realized I'd forgotten the system. I nearly ported into sol space uninsured", says Jazir. Galinfenner says, "wow" Thejunior grimaces. Ops says, "Whoopsy" Galinfenner smiles, "Someone upstairs loves you" Fancy smiles, "Good catch" Ops winks and says, "It's Ming" Jazir chuckles Galinfenner grins Jazir smiles, "Thank ya Fancy! It was a close one, thats for sure" Sallyanne thought Ming just whipped people. "What do you do these days, Jaz? Where do you hang out?", asks Galinfenner. Thejunior asks, "How does that saying go? God loves a fool?" Ops says, "Muff Dodem... Errr Duff Modem" Jazir says, "I hang around whereever I find parties. Nowadays I mostly fight, and do some of the other events. Haven't been as active as normal, because of RL though" Galinfenner nods "Who taught you to fight?", asks Galinfenner. Ops hopes for the return of hot tub parties... Jazir says, "One of these days I'm going to finish a planet design that I have on the shelf.." Galinfenner grins Thejunior says, "Probably the Devil himself, the way he fights." "Ah, fighting. No one actually taught me fighting..", says Jazir. Wyldcat chuckles Jazir grins at TJ Thejunior smells 'pact with the devil'. Sallyanne giggles. Galinfenner chuckles Peggysue knew it "Sacrificing chickens?", asks Galinfenner. "I took up league fighting in the 5th season, but I had been fighting long before then, in the snert hunts of AOL, the last Onyx war, etc'", says Jazir. "you dont learn it - youre born to it", says Peggysue. Galinfenner nods Sallyanne nods. Jazir has handled security for every duchy he was a member of Ops asks, "Did you kiss your victims in the 'tina before taking em ta the arena?" "Was it during the NamCD days or later?", asks Galinfenner. "Nam was gone when I started competitively", says Jazir. Galinfenner nods Ops munches on a chicken taco... "I usually just sent the snerts on a contract to Sb1", smiles Jazir. Shel grins Galinfenner smiles, "heh that only worked once though" Jazir says, "Or occasionally, if I needed to kill a commander, the old orbital warehouse trick" "The impressionable... how quaint", says Ops with a wink. "Yeah, with the smarter ones, you could use any 3 sector link, and get some guys lurking on the way", says Jazir. "What's the orbital warehouse trick?", asks Galinfenner. Ops asks, "Return to sender?" Jazir says, "Well, it used to be we could fight in Sol, but they removed that a long time ago.. So if we wanted to kill a commander, you had to be clever about it.." "They usually knew enough about the game to know that private contracts were good. So I'd over them private contracts that they could pick up at my orbital warehouse, 3 s of mercury", smiles Jazir. Peggysue was thinking Jazir was a real nice guy up to now Peggysue grins at Jazir Wyldcat laughs "Jaz, if you could change one thing about Fed, what would that be?", asks Galinfenner. "Wares for the soul?", says Ops with a wink. Ops smiles, "or was it solwares" "Hmm, I like the game. Aside from bug fixes, maybe put in something game related for Dukes to do, like the martian invasion", says Jazir. Sallyanne cheers for that! Galinfenner nods Ops asks, "You desire challenge?" Jazir says, "That and the ability to stop your comp from turning on your shields when you're shot at" Fancy says, "A Duchy Navy to create and build." Jazir smiles, "Course I do, thats why I fight" Galinfenner chuckles Ops grins Galinfenner asks, "What keeps you coming back to Fed?" Jazir says, "Two things, the people and the flexibility of the game.." "Deep rooted addiction.", says Thejunior. "What's her name?... out with it", says Ops with a wink. "Same as the rest of us.", says Thejunior with a wink. Galinfenner grins Jazir says, "You can do so much in the game, everything from very nice economics type stuff, to fighting, to socializing, to planet design.." "Do you have any advice for new people just starting out?", asks Galinfenner. Jazir winks and says, "Or even Fed survivors." Sallyanne grins. Fancy smiles. Galinfenner grins Jazir smiles, "Yeah, I'd just say, take it slow and enjoy each element of the game. I loved being a JP, and am really an FO at heart" "What a proper answer", says Ops. Galinfenner grins Galinfenner says, "Good answers" Jazir smiles, "Seriously, there's no point in simply rushing to Duke, to enjoy the rank you really need to know the game" "here here", says Ops. Jazir winks and says, "Plus, you should have hauled enough to have it all out of your system" Thejunior scoffs. Wyldcat did that as a captain. ;) Thejunior exclaims, "Hauling.. out of your system? That HAPPENS?!" Ops looks mollified Galinfenner winks and says, "for some people" Sallyanne thinks she vaguely remembers loving hauling for a time. Jazir winks and says, "We'll see how you scoff after 250000+ tons of Soya for the Duke puz ALONE, TJ" Ops winks and says, "Ancient practice" Sallyanne was sick of it by the time she got all the fuel to make a few trips to Horsell. "Heh.. well I ain't dukin'.. but the same as you're an FO at heart.. an old smuggler like me is a hauler at heart.", says Thejunior. Madonnaboi was sick of it after building his porter "What was Estate's demand for soya while a Leisure planet?", asks Fancy. "i didn't mind hauling much, till that @#&* soya. LOL", says Wyldcat. Sallyanne still hates soya. Galinfenner laughs Thejunior has bought you a Soya burger! Ops says, "Necessary junk" The cleaner has just arrived. "Hm, don't recall, I think it was in the teens tho", says Jazir. "Fortun has 50k stocked up, just in case. LOL", says Wyldcat. Peggysue says, "soya 95 production 25 demand...come get all you want" Sallyanne throws it to the cleaner. The cleaner has just left. Jazir says, "I could cover it with PPs, just took an aweful lot" Fancy winks and says, "Sounds like you COULD have produced it and bought it off the exchange had you really wanted to" Ops recycles and plugs "The hauling was kinda Zen I always thought. Good for centering your mind", says Galinfenner with a wink. Peggysue glances at galin "And good for the fuel market.", says Thejunior with a wink. Sallyanne winks and says, "It's a little hypnotic." Jazir smiles, "I did for some of it, but I was impatient Fancy, and warping a lot" "I had the pop done to 2 at one point", says Jazir. Jazir says, "Err, down even" Sallyanne grins. "Zen and the art of hauling... mind centric...", says Ops. Thejunior says, "hmmmm." "heh", says Galinfenner. Thejunior asks, "So you probably knew your population on a first name basis, huh?" Thejunior asks, "Heh. After slaughtering every last WT on the planet but those two, you really think they would come within 1000 parsecs of Jaz?" Shel snickers Sallyanne laughs and laughs! "maybe not, but would've had fun trying", says Madonnaboi. Ops asks, "So what was Eve wearing?" Galinfenner says, "rofl" Fancy says, "I suppose with just the right setup, it would be possible to have a planet's population explode from 2 to 552." Ops *sqwiggles!* Sallyanne snickers at Ops. "You think I would deign to look at a workthing? I just cracked a whip in their general direction", says Jazir. Galinfenner asks, "Is there any significance to your name?" "That sounds familiar... somehow", says Ops. Galinfenner says, "From the bloody english ka nigget scene" "He looks like a Jazir.", says Wolfyn. Fancy supposes it's pronounced like "Jazz ear". Sallyanne laughs!! "No significance to my name. I was Shade339 on AOL, but I had to change the name because no numbers and the Duchy of Shade on web. I think I derived it from the vizier, though", says Jazir. Galinfenner nods Jazir just kept it because he liked the sound of it :) Peggysue pronounces it 'jazzer' "And Fancy has the right pronounciation", smiles Jazir. Madonnaboi says Jazz ear Wolfyn just whistles. Galinfenner grins Ops sputters "Anyone else got questions for Jazir?", asks Galinfenner. Thejunior doesn't ever mention that name, tries hard never to speak of him at all. Peggysue wants to know if theres a Mrs. Jazir Jazir smiles, "No Mrs. Jazirs running around" Thejunior asks, "WHat about little baby Jazir Jr's?" "SoSayCin?", asks Ops. "Themed", says Ops. Shel fidgets "He's been a bridesmaid, but never a bride?", asks Wolfyn. Galinfenner grins "or are there a lot of ex Mrs. Jazirs?", asks Peggysue. Sallyanne wonders how Jaz looks in a dress. "Good advice, Ops", smiles Jazir. Ops grimaces and pays yet again! Sallyanne grins. Peggysue peers to double check to see if ops is an ex-husband "Any questions folks, come on now", smiles Jazir. Design for a game, I mean." Ops studies hard! ;) Wyldcat chuckles "Bimbukwa was fun. Because it was an event planet, it had to do completely different things then I did for Estate..", says Jazir. "The most challenging part turned out to be making about 70 jungle locations look different, without typing "Its just more trees" in frustration", says Jazir. "I'd love to do something like that again", smiles Jazir. Ops exclaims, "Watch out for that tree!" "Isn't that the case in most planets?", asks Galinfenner. Sallyanne laughs! Galinfenner winks and says, "a million ways to say 'you can move in 'x' direction" Fancy hears a BOOM, "Oooooooooo!" Ops considers coconuts and swallows... "Yeah, but you can have more variety in geography and style. For bimbukwa, I needed an isolated jungle; I didn't want to give them any comfortable locs to hang around in", smiles Jazir. "Anyone else?", asks Galinfenner. Ops says, "Comfort is for the unadventurous" Galinfenner says, "mmm ... that's a good point" "What's your favorite location, of all that you've written?", asks Sallyanne. Jazir winks and says, "Comfort is for ME. That was the theme of Estate, my big comfy house" Sallyanne loves Estate. Peggysue needs to visit estate Fancy explored it once. Jazir says, "Eh, thats a good one... The garden on Estate, which replaced my exchange, was one of my favorites. Estate 128 is nice as well.." Wyldcat needs to write Montreve. ;) Antonia nods in agreement with Sally "shielded", says Ops. Sallyanne smiles. Jazir likes his offices, with their famous Jack Daniels Advisors Sallyanne giggles. Peggysue grins "Estate's a nice place Peggy, you'll like it. Great puzzle, won a Walrus", smiles Jazir. "128 is a puzzle loc, the last one, have to survive to get that far", smiles Jazir. "Do you have a vineyard?", asks Ops. Sallyanne winks and says, "That produces a good Merlot?" "No vineyards, but bars in quite a few of the locations", says Jazir. Jazir gets all his Merlot for Merlot Jazir smiles, "Err, from Merlot, even" Sallyanne giggles. Ops says, "Nothing like splorin' ... refreshments stops ... ahhh goood" "Anything you'd like to pontifi... err... tell us before ending Jaz?", asks Galinfenner. Jazir smiles, "Gotta keep the stam up. The locals are friendly, well, except for the ones trying to kill you" "Are they female?", asks Ops. Sallyanne thinks that doesn't sound too comforting. Jazir says, "Don't think I have any parting remarks, just a general command to get out there and design planets, play in events, etc..." Galinfenner grins "We players make this game, so play it to the fullest and enjoy your time here", smiles Jazir. "Very good. Thanks for coming.", says Galinfenner. Peggysue grins at Jaz "That'll do nicely", says Ops. "And darts, Ops", says Thejunior. Peggysue says, "well I want a tour of estate soon" "oh yes, and darts", says Ops.
