The Journal of Jonathon Lindey

Introduction

Because of the need to produce version two of the Federation multi-player game I had to suspend work on a role-playing game called Age of Adventure.

The game is set in Victorian times, and the players take on the role of explorers and investigators of the unusual. When work on Age was suspended I was in the middle of designing a series of adventures for the players, and in particular I was working on an adventure with the working title 'Crystal Falls'.

The aim of the quest is to investigate a series of violent murders which have taken place during a seance. Set in New England (specifically Boston, Mass. and Crystal Falls in upstate Rhode Island) the quest introduces players to adventures involving murders, corruption in high places, Victorian spiritualism and Lovecraftesque horror.

As part of the quest I wrote a number of pieces involving the non-player characters telling their stories. One of the key stories was in the form of a diary, and since it largely stands on its own merits, a number of the game's testers have asked me to make it more generally available.

Since it seems like it's going to be quite some time until I can get back to the game, I'm now able to do that. I intend, over time, to publish the other material that was written for this adventure, and add some bridging material to bring it into a coherent story. But, as a taster, here is 'The Diary of Jonathon Lindey'.
